I can do it myself!

Good Morning Friends!  Wonderfully wrapped in HIS loving arms, Wednesday!  Well, how about this cold….I feel sorry for people that have to work outside like my husband and his buddy Cooper, who has been spending his days with Papa while school is out.  On Monday when it was sooo very cold Papa and Cooper had to head out the same time I did.  Well Cooper had come prepared, hat, ear muffs, gloves, long johns and the final touch, his insulated, camo coveralls!  The boy was determined to stay warm.  I was gathering up my things to head out and couldn’t help but stop and watch Cooper working so hard to get his coveralls on.  He really seemed to be struggling, so I asked him if he needed Nana to help him.  Quite adamantly he said, “No, Nana, I can do it myself!”   I said, “OK Coop” and headed out the door, chuckling.  Little stinker I thought doesn’t think he needs any help…..Oh boy……I could feel HIM next to me…..I paused.  “Kathie, My child, you are laughing at Cooper because he thinks he doesn’t need any help, when you know that if he just let you help him, the task would be so much easier…..Kathie, you are making me laugh because you are so much like Cooper at times.  So often you struggle so needlessly….worry and stress take a toll on you….when if you would just let ME help….You know that’s what I’m here for to help….carry your burdens, ease your stress, heal your pain, watch over your kiddos and friends, wrap My arms around you, comfort and protect you…..if you would just let go and LET ME….I love you.  No matter how big or small the issue is, precious child….I can handle it!  Call on ME!  Thank you Father, oh my goodness…..forgive me for trying to go it alone…..help me to simply trust and believe in YOU!

With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment.  Always let Him lead you, and He will clear the road for you to follow.  Proverbs 3:5-6.  Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for HIM.  Psalm 37:7.The Lord is good, giving protection in times of trouble.  He knows who trusts in Him.  Nahum  1:7.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”  Psalm 91:2.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  2 Corinthians 4:18.
Love you all!

You Better Not Pout...

Good Morning Friends!  Thankfully loved by Him, Tuesday!  Cooper is out of school today, so Papa has his favorite helper!  I’m not sure who was more excited Papa or Cooper, but I do know who was quite mad about the whole deal!  Oh my, Miss Katy wanted to stay with Papa too and she did not hold back on her emotions one little bit.  I grabbed my robe and ran outside to say hi to her…..Well, let’s say it was definitely a one way conversation and Katy was not a part of it! From the confines of her car seat she did not even look up at me when I excitedly called her name, waving like only a crazy Nana can…..she sat perfectly still and glared at me…eyes squinted, mouth stern and stiff….a look, that to anyone but a Nana, could have actually seemed hostile!  Bless her heart she just does not understand why Cooper can stay with Papa, but she can’t….she loves going to Grammi’s (where she stays while mommy works), but it’s just the thought of missing out on Papa fun.  I keep seeing that look on Katy’s precious face……Katy, just a young child, doesn’t understand……but how about us…..How often do our faces display an attitude that is not becoming…..hostile….unwelcoming….When our Heavenly Father looks at us, what does HE see?  I know that we can’t be running around grinning from ear to ear all the time….but did you know that it is proven that smiling makes us feel better!  More importantly than sporting a smile on our face is what our heart looks like….When our Heavenly Father looks into our hearts, what does He see?  Does He see unselfishness or greed?  Does He see envy or encouragement?  Does He see anger or self-control?  Does He see trust or stress?  Every day we encounter situations that may be stressful, hurting, promote anger, cause worry…..how we handle these situations depends on what is in our hearts……Does He see love?  If our hearts reflect HIS love we have everything we need to get through the worst of situations (even if it means not staying with Cooper and Papa)!  His love is our strength, our guidance, our hope…..our everything!  Father, remove our pouting faces, fill our hearts with YOU, and help us to share Your love….Father when people look at us….let them see You.  Thanksgiving and Praise to You, our Loving Father!

The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.  The Lord protects the simple hearted; when I was in great need, He saved me….I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord.  Psalm 116:5-6 & 17.  Co not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.  Ephesians 4:29.  A happy heart makes the faith cheerful.  Proverbs 15:13.  A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.  Proverbs 15:30.  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13.
Love you all!

April 16, 2013

Good Morning Friends!  Thankfully His, Tuesday!  Last night Kim had call a phone call from our grandson Brayden in California.  Brayden was reading Papa Kim the very first report he had ever written.  The subject….pick your hero and write about him/her.  Well, guess who Brayden wrote about!  Yep, his Papa Kim….he read, “My hero is my Papa Kim……because he is a fireman.  He is a fireman, he helps his community,  and he saves lives……that’s why he is my hero!  I am proud of my Papa Kim.”   I didn’t hear the whole report, but that is what I could get from Papa Kim…….He was so proud, beaming like a bright light, smiling from ear to ear, so he could hardly speak.  Gosh, can you just imagine…..a tribute like that from your 7 (8 tomorrow) year old grandson.  His hero, Papa Kim.  After his call I started thinking who I would write about if I was given that assignment…..people in my life came to mind first…my mom, my brother Sam, my husband…..then I thought of some biblical persons….David slaying Goliath, Daniel in the lion’s den, how about all the apostles dying because they would never deny their faith……dying…I thought of Brayden’ s report….how Papa Kim saves lives……..yes Papa Kim and all firemen do have the opportunity at times to save lives and I am so thankful for all the people that risk their lives for others in their jobs…..And then the LIGHT came on….the LIGHT of the WORLD is my hero……Jesus our Savior, our Good Shepherd, our Best Friend….HOLY…without blame….born in a stable…..DIED FOR US!  He didn’t risk HIS life….HE GAVE IT…..WILLINGLY!  For you and for me…….Really, Hero is not nearly BIG enough to call our JESUS!!!!  We are so blessed!  By grace we have been saved……Father, my goodness how we so miss the LIGHT so often, forgive us!  Thank you for YOUR gift to us…YOUR only Son, our Savior…….Father, thank you for precious grandchildren that help us to see the LIGHT and bless our lives in such very special ways.  All Praise, Honor, and Glory to You!!!!!

God so loved the world that He GAVE His ONE and ONLY Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16.   Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of Your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for You name’s sake.  Psalm 79:9  Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord.  You ha e filled my heart with great joy than when their grain and new wine abound.  Psalm 4:6-7.  The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.  Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His suffering in order that we may also share in His glory.  Romans 8:16—17.
Love you all!
